Email marketing is all about gaining credibility and loyalty in order to stay top of mind with your customers, drive repeat business and generate referrals. The process begins when they sign up for your email list, but that doesn’t guarantee they’ll ever open a single one. So it’s important that you provide the right content and present it in their inbox in a way that compels them to open. The next step is converting the casual email scanner to a reader, and then to a true fan who clicks on your calls-to-action time and time again.

How do we do it?

We’ve learned that the email marketing process doesn’t end when you hit the send button, and we want you to know that too. Email can be as daunting as a 5,000 piece jigsaw puzzle, but following a few best practices will make it easier and more lucrative. This email checklist is intended to help make sure you’re covering all of the bases.

Remember, start with the basics: figure out who exactly you’re emailing, send them good content with compelling calls-to-action and no mistakes, then dig a little deeper. Email metrics are your friend. If you’re seeing low engagement (opens and clickthroughs), it just means it’s time to try something else. Over time you’ll figure out what works best for your audience, and then it’ll be smooth sailing in email marketing land.
