Breathe life into your social media posts and use Vine for small business marketing. For those of you who aren’t that familiar, Vine is Twitter’s latest answer to video-sharing online. It’s a mobile application that allows users to create and share six-second video clips on the web. So how does this mini-miracle contend in the arena of effective branding, advertising, and keeping you top of mind?

According to 7th Chamber, a branded Vine video is four-times more likely to be seen than a regular branded video. The Online Publishers Association found that 80% of internet users recall watching a video add on a website they visited within the last 30 days. Simply measured revealed that videos are shared 1,200% more times than links and text combined. Need we go on?

Now with all social networks, it’s easy to get caught up in trying to do too much and not have enough time. But with Vine, it’s easy enough to get started. All you need is a Twitter account and a smartphone. It’s fun to play with these new tools just to keep the content you post to your social media pages fun and interesting, and it adds a new twist from a content perspective to your marketing mix. And if you’re wondering if it works, we actually generated sales leads off of a Vine post we made as a company.

However, the question still remains: how can I make Vine an effective part of my marketing efforts for my small business? Here’s 7 tips to help you get started.

1. Put A Face On It.

People love to know that they are connecting with human beings. In an age of automated responses and voices that seem to beam down from outer space, we all love to see a glimpse of that human element. Use Vine video to cameo your friendly staff, or introduce yourself as the face behind the business card.

2. Make Your Product The Star!

In a business where retail is your focus? Take creative advantage of a six second video clip to showcase a featured product by offering angles, colors, and functionality.

3. Show Off Your Diggs.

Whether you work in Real Estate and want to add dimension to a listing, or you have an office where you make it all happen, using video to give the grand tour inspires connection and enthusiasm from your followers.

4. Amp Up Your Announcement.

Having a sale, holding a contest, or re-branding your company? A short video is a simple and effective way of getting the message out in a way that sticks.

5. Break Out The Fireworks To Mark Milestones.

Celebrating an anniversary, merger, or another important marker in your business? Create a fun video to highlight your business accomplishments and involve the customers who helped to make it all happen.

6. Testify.

There is a reason that Yelp has become a top destination for consumers, people want to know that you can make them happy. Use a Vine to feature satisfied customers and draw in new business.

7. Make A Mini Advertisement Worth Mentioning.

Take advantage of the creativity at your disposal. Get your staff involved in creating a short, mini-mercial to show-off your service or product. Not only is this DIY method of advertising simple and cost effective, it offers an opportunity for fun within the ranks.
